About Department

Establishment: June 1969

 Introduction
 The Department of Geography, Raje Ramrao Mahavidyalaya, Jath, was established in 1988. Currently One full time and three part time faculty members are working in department. Out of four, two faculty members are qualified NET and SET and one faculty member is pursuing Ph.D. degree from Shivaji University, Kolhapur. By keeping the students at the center, the department conducts various activities like village survey, Excursion-cum-study-tour, Industrial Visits, Guest Lecture, Wallpaper Presentation, Geography day, Population day, Group Discussion, Debate etc.

         The Department of Geography has been done memorandum of understanding with Raju Tours & Travels, Kolhapur for skill based learning in Tourism.
 Vision
 To motivate and inspire the rural students to acquire new technologies in geography like GIS, GPS, remote sensing.
 Mission
 Apply the geographical knowledge to resolve local environmental problems.
