About College
Raje Ramrao Mahavidyalaya, Jath is affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur. It is in remote, rural and drought prone area of Sangli district. The college, right from its inception has shown academic excellence and students have won meritorious awards and have maintained top ranks in the university examinations as well as in extra-curricular activities. Raje Ramrao Mahavidyalaya, Jath is having graduate departments of full-fledged Arts, Science, Commerce and B.C.A. The college has started M.Sc. (Physics) from this academic year 2016-17 and M.Sc. (Analytical Chemistry) in the 2017-18. The college has Shivaji university Kolhapur recognized research laboratories in Physics and Chemistry. Total Student strength of college is more than 3000. College has total 60 teaching staff and 28 non-teaching staff. Recently 05 minor research projects have been granted by UGC and 16 new MRP’s have been submitted to UGC. We have highly qualified staff and well equipped laboratories. NAAC Bangalore has reaccredited the college with A Grade (CGPA 3.02) in the year 2024.
The Vice Chancellor of the university has honored the college by the certificate of appreciation for securing second and first positon for getting maximum number of merit scholarships offered by the University for the year academic year 2014-15 and 2015-16 respectively.Anchor
College has organized consecutive 6 International Conferences on Advances in Materials Science. College has signed 30 MOUs and started38 Career oriented courses and value added Programmes.
Our institution is purely educational and it is run by teachers only. It was our founder ‘s vision that the college become a dynamic center of educational and cultural movement as a vehicle of social change. Considering the future development in education, the goals of education were modified by giving emphasis on science and other courses. We aim at fully equipping our students to become modern global citizens.
Considering the growing importance of interdisciplinary approach to achieve excellence in teaching and research in basic sciences and life sciences the college wishes to improvise teaching and practical training in the existing courses.
