 About Women Empowerment Cell
“That country and that nation which doesn’t respect women will never become great now nor will ever in future and in pursuit of making India a great nation, let us work towards giving women their much-deserved status.”
Introduction:

The year 2001 was declared as the “Women Empowerment Year”. Every citizen of the country, male and female have right to enjoy the education, health as well as employment in the clean, secure, safety environment. According to the articles 14, 19 and 21 the constitution of India gives right of “Gender equality” and the “Right of life and liberty” to all the persons. The principle of gender equality is enshrined in the Indian constitution in the preamble, fundamental rights. The constitution also empowers the fight positively against discrimination in favour to women. Thus, the organization has the duty and mandate to provide maintenance of the fundamental rights of women’s but some time women face out the violations of their fundamental right, the necessitates of  the establishment of safeguard to provide gender equality.

About the cell:

Women empowerment cell of Raje Ramrao Mahavidyalaya, Jath established with the motto of “Towards self-empowered mind, strong women, strong nation” in the college campus to empower the girls and female members, faculty, staff and student of the college. The cell aims to create an awareness of the rights of women’s and duties the cell stands for facilitating women’s empowerment through seminar, guest lectures, awareness programmes, health camp and welfare activities.

Aims:

1. To understand the issues related to women and to make the college campus a safe place for girls and women.

2. The cell aims at creating awareness of their rights and duties.

3. The cell aims at intellectual and social upliftment of the female student, the cell stands for facilitating womens empowerment through conference, awareness        programme, Seminar, guest lectures and other welfare activities.

 Vison:

 1. To promote general well- being of female student, teaching and non-teaching women staff of the college.

2. The vision is to acquire the world free of thoughts where womens rights are to be respected, imposing to become strong, independent.

3. To empower Girls in all spheres of life, for the betterment of self, family and society.

 Mission:

 1. To educate Girls on independence and right to work with dignity (as equal partners) in a safe and secure working environment.

2. To awareness among the social, legal and constitutional rights of women in order to prevent the harassment and exploitation based on gender.

3.  To educate Girls on independence and right to work with dignity (as equal partners), in a safe and secure working environment.

 Objectives:

1. To help girls understand their strength and potential.

2. To create awareness among girls on occupational, legal and constitutional rights.

3. To educate lady faculty and girl students on girls specific health issues and overall well being.

4. To promote a culture of respect and equality for female gender.

5. To combat and eradicate the menace of workplace sexual harassment.

 Action Plan:

1. To organize guest lectures on areas covering legal, career and social aspects by inviting successful women personnel from varied sectors like           education, health, self-defence, yoga and meditation.

2. To conduct seminars, paper presentations, workshops to highlight the power of women and their contribution to society.

3. To conduct rallies and public awareness campaigns on women education and women related issues.

4. To mount display boards, quotes and writings in the favour of respect for women in the vicinity of the campus.

5. To encourage discussion forums to voice out the atrocities against women.

6. To register and address the complaints and problems of girl students and lady staff.
